Sunflower Red Pepper Hummus (raw, vegan)



Raw Vegan Sunflower Red Pepper Hummus

This has become a standard on our menu at Superfoods on Main.  We love finding new ways to use sunflower seeds because they have a great price point.  This protein packed, easily digestible, hardy hummus is excellent as a dip, a spread on wraps, the main part of a hummus wrap and a spread on crackers.   This has been very popular when we introduced it over 6 months ago and we kept it on the menu.

Ingredients:

3 C. Sunflower Seeds (soaks 6 hrs.)
6 Cloves of garlic
2 tsp sea salt
2 Tbs. Cumin powder
¼ C.  Extra VirginOlive Oil
¾ C.  Lemon Juice
1 C. Tahini
1 red pepper
1 Tbs. Chili Powder
A Pinch of cayenne

Instructions:
Place all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.  You may need to add water  and use a spatula to work it down.
