2017 Top Food Trends

1. Clean Food Trends 2017

Growing calls for transparency are taking clean clear labeling to a new level.  This comes as the inherent benefits of plant-based products are being active marketed to a more health conscious consumers. “Clean Supreme”  lead Innova Market Insights’ Top Ten Trends list for 2017.   “Clean and clear labeling and ‘free from’ foods have all gained traction and moved on to the next level,” reports Lu Ann Williams, Director of Innovation at Innova Market Insights.[i]

What does this mean?  It means that consumers are seeking pure clean products that have clear labeling and simple ingredients.  No additives, no fillers, no preservatives… when they buy pea protein they want the ingredients to be simply pea protein powder without additives.  Feel free to examine any of the Natural Zing branded products; you’ll find that we NEVER add fillers or additives.  Natural Zing prides itself on providing pure clean high quality foods.   Since 2003 Natural Zing has invested in pure clean high quality sources of food.  It has become a brand associated with high quality.

2, Plant-based Protein Trends in 2017

Demand for plant-based ingredients like brown rice, sunflower and pea proteins is climbing, as the appetite for non dairy or meat-free alternatives increases.[ii]    These plant-based proteins are affordable, have a lower eco-footprint than animal products and are nutritious.  Even in 2016 the United Nations started encouraging the switch to these protein sources.

What does this mean?  It means that consumers are  seeking plant-based protein sources and since they are looking for clean pure sources as well they want simple solutions.  Not highly processed plant-based burgers and processed food in a box.  They are going to be seeking pure plant-based protein powders, seeds and nuts that they can use in recipes.  Because another growing trend is consumers using whole food ingredients to make meals from scratch.  However, they may need help in finding recipes and ideas on how to use them.  Natural Zing has recognized this for years and we have been compiling recipes using pure clean ingredients since 2008. See our recipes database.

There is a growing demand for pure clean food and plant-based protein by consumers.   Natural Zing has invested in finding several plant-based protein sources.  Our latest product, sunflower protein, is very mild in taste; it blends very well, is a good source of protein and is very affordable.  Most importantly it contains only sunflower protein powder…no fillers, no additives…just pure clean food.   Thankfully Natural Zing has spent the last 14 years researching and sourcing pure clean high quality foods.   From nuts, superfruits, spirulina, to plant-based protein powders; Natural Zing is your source for pure clean food that gives consumers a sense of safety that they are seeking.  When they look at the label, they can see that there is not junk added to fill, preserve, or manipulate  taste buds. Natural Zing is high quality pure clean food.

Immunity Boost - Super C Orange Creamsicle

January three years ago, I was working at my cafe and it seemed every other person was coming in with just getting over the FLU or with really BAD COLDS.  I started feeling funny myself, so I thought how can I boost my immune system before I get sick too.  Knowing that camu camu has the highest amount of vitamin C of any food I created the SUPER C ORANGE CREAMSICLE smoothie!  It quickly became a favorite at my cafe...parents and kids alike.   Here it is for you.  Stay healthy this winter.
